I design interiors for house and apartment remodels as well as in new-built homes.  In remodels, I try to preserve and integrate valuable "bones" of the space (floors, doors, etc.) and furnishings but always in agreement with the client, of course. I prefer high quality natural materials processed by skilled craftsmen, be it metal (brass, copper, iron, cast iron), stone (slate, sandstone, travertine), wood (ash, oak, teak) or other (wicker, jute, sea grass, ceramics, porcelain, linen and other high quality fabrics), although I do not hesitate to grab a budget friendly mass produced piece here and there if it fits the concept or is required by the budget. I like to combine furniture with history with new pieces, I work with textures and colors to combine it all in a pleasing and comfortable whole that is unique and conforms to the needs and nature of its inhabitants.

Designing interiors is my passion, even as a little girl I used to remodel rooms and repaint furniture in my head in places I spent some considerable amount of time. As it often is in life, I returned to interior design via a detour in English and linguistic studies in Charles University and translating legal and medical texts while on maternity leave, which takes quite some time when you have three kids.

As a little kid, I wished to work freelance just as my grandma the seamstress did and later on (after the Velvet Revolution) also my mother, the painter, puppeteer and visual artist. Growing up in an artistic family provided me with a solid creative background, sense of color, form and composition, as well as reverence for crafts because apart from my seamstress grandma (who was able to whip up ladies suits and dresses alongside furnishing not only her homes with textiles but also the homes of wealthy Egyptians when she lived in Egypt for some time) and a carver stepdad I have very fond memories also of my visits to my great grandpa who used to have a carpenter's workshop near Znojmo (and also a vineyard, of course). So I don't hesitate to design a piece of furniture made to measure, if necessary.  I do appreciate original concepts and ideas naturally uniting the esthetic and practical function and always do my best so that the resulting interior stands out from the mainstream.
